The Shukuru Foundation Dear Friend of The Shukuru Foundation: Many of you are aware of the terrible events of the past week in Nairobi.  We are very saddened by this terrible act of terrorism and feel that we need to do something to bring awareness to the situation and support to those impacted.  We created a simple wristband with the Kenyan Flag colors embedded with the words "Amani Kwa Kenya" - Peace for Kenya in Swahili.  These bands are for sale on our website at www.theshukurufoundation.com and by clicking the link below.  All proceeds will be donated to the Kenya Red Cross. Announces a New Film By Michael Notrica CAMPAIGN UPDATE #7: The Choices We Make OUR FUNDING CAMPAIGN IS ALMOST OVER! WE ONLY HAVE FIVE DAYS LEFT AND WE STILL NEED $775 OR MORE TO MAKE OUR GOAL!  This is the last push, and the last of the long series of emails, I promise!! Preproduction is going great and we have an amazing crew put together.  As we mentioned in our last update, we are budgeting with the philosophy that "if you don't see it on the screen, we won't spend money on it."  But we really do need every penny of the $7,500 goal.  So, if you know anyone that might be interested in helping, please forward this information on to them. Thanks to Faith Hibbs-Clark, CSA and Bella Hibbs, our first round of casting went extremely well.  We have found some perfect actors for most of our main characters.  We will be doing call-backs next weekend so stay tuned to our Facebook page for updates. Location scouting has led to some long, frustrating days.  We are thinking of building one of our main sets.  But we still need to find the perfect, long, bare, nondescript hallway... so please send me a note if you have ANY suggestions! 6th (almost last!) Update on The Choices We Make

Announces a New Film By Michael Notrica CAMPAIGN UPDATE #6: The Choices We Make WE ARE ALMOST AT THE END! Thank you for your patience with these emails! We only have 14 days left and then I promise to leave you alone for a while.  We are still just under our goal and need everyone's help to make the last little bit. The budget is going to be tight and every dollar will be spent wisely.  But we need the full $7,500.  We are budgeting with the philosophy that "if you don't see it on the screen, we won't spend money on it."  So, if you know anyone that might be interested in helping, please forward this information on to them. We are casting this week.  Our casting director, Faith, and her casting associate, Bella, have been working on lining up tons of talented actors.  We plan to have call-backs on 6/8 so stay tuned for cast announcements. Other needs: Do you know anyone who does interior design that might want to be our set designer?  We can pay a SMALL stipend (flat rate) for the role! What to have fun with us on set? We still need hands on set.  I still need behind-the-scenes photographers, more production assistants, craft food services and lots of extras for the hospital scenes. Fourth Update on The Choices We Make

Announces a New Film By Michael Notrica CAMPAIGN UPDATE #4: The Choices We Make Dear : HAPPY MOTHERS DAY! Just a quick update to say "Au Revoir" as I leave for the Cannes Film FestivalI We have had a busy, busy week on preproduction.  We are working on finalizing our budget break-downs and are busy interviewing crew.  There are so many talented and passionate filmmakers in Arizona and I am honored to have met with them and get their feedback on my script.  There is so much interest in being on crew and I have some difficult decisions ahead of me.  But the biggest hurdle is going to be our budget.  We need to be able to make our numbers and we are only a little over 60% there.  So, I still need your help!
