We want to thank for being a supporter of The Shukuru Foundation. We have exciting news! School is back in session in the bush and our first delivery of individual chalkboards has made it to Olturrai Nursery School in Northern Kenya. The children were so excited! And the teacher is looking forward to enhancing their literacy program.
 Even more exciting... We had TWO more nursery schools request the same boards! We are thrilled that our boards are needed and the children and teachers love them. The boards cost us about $5 each so please consider making a donation of four boards or $20. Our goal is to raise enough money in the next few weeks to purchase 75 more boards to supply to the other nursery schools.
So what are our next steps? We are working with the community to determine the facility needs at the school. We have initial plans help them build a basic structure and enhance their current kitchen and toilet facilities. We will be visiting the school in July so that we can meet with elders of the community and decide what other programs would help make this wonderful community thrive.
